Let 's Play Outside? We went Mammoth Hunting

On a snowy day, after my host kids came back from school, they began doing their homework. It was freezing outside, and my oldest boy, A, asked me for his snack. He said, "Hey, Priscila, could I have some popcorn please?" I replied, "Yes, A, of course!" Within just a few minutes, the house was smelling popcorn. Soon after, my other host kid, O, requested nachos as well.

After completing their homework, they usually spend some time relaxing. A. would read books while O. would play video games. However, on that afternoon, it was snowing, so we decided to play outside.

A. and O., please put on your coats! We're going outside to have some fun. We loved playing outside, especially when it was snowing. Every time we try to do something new, like making a snow angel or a snowman with a scarf and a big carrot nose, we always try to do our best and be proud of it.

On that particular day, O, a very creative person, suggested something we had never considered before. He proposed that we should go mammoth hunting. The idea of hunting mammoths made me both curious and apprehensive. I responded to O, saying that it was alright, and we could pretend to hunt mammoths. To which he replied, "That's fantastic, Priscila. You can play the role of the mammoth, while A and I can be the hunters."

I burst out laughing and asked hopefully, "Are you kidding?" The Americans take their games seriously, and this one was no exception. Frankly, I wasn't surprised, but I didn't want to crawl on the ground and get wet. But guess what? They started chasing me with a big stick in their hands, shouting, "I found it... look at it! There's a big mammoth!

"Oh no! Don't hit it! We need it alive," screamed A. I thought I was safe for a while, but not for long. Soon after, someone caught me.

Here the moment the hunter caught the mammoth.

We spent about two hours outside, hunting mammoths and acting crazy. "It's time to head back inside, I'm sure the hunters would love a big and delicious meal after this hunt," I said, knowing they were starving. And you know what? We were too! Playing outside was always very enjoyable. Every day we came up with something different - a story, a hunt - it didn't matter what we decided to do, we always had fun.
